Holiday Program Passport: November 1 – December 21
Embark on a holiday adventure with the Belfast Holiday Program Passport! Running until December 21st, this program invites you to explore participating downtown businesses. Make a purchase at any of these establishments and collect stamps on your passport (one stamp per business). The more stamps you gather, the greater your chances of winning in the gift card raffle. Return your completed passport to either Our Town Belfast (82 Main Street) or the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce (33 Main Street) by 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21. Downtown Window Decorating Contest: November & December
Take a stroll through the heart of Belfast and admire the creativity on display during the Downtown Window Decorating Contest, running from November 24th to December 17th. Let the festive window displays enchant you and add a touch of holiday spirit to your winter wanderings.
Annual Holiday Tree Lighting: November 29th
Unpack your holiday cheer and join the town of Belfast in the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony! You can find the ceremony at the Post Office Square November 29th, 2025 at 4:30 pm.
Annual Early Bird Sale: December 6th
On December 6th, be an early bird and catch the best deals in town! The Annual Early Bird Sale promises deep discounts and promotions from retail shops and restaurants throughout downtown Belfast. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping while enjoying the town’s cozy ambiance.
Annual Menorah Lighting: December 14th
Join in the celebration of lights during the Annual Menorah Lighting on December 14th. Witness the menorah illuminate the darkness, spreading joy and marking the beginning of Hanukkah.
Holiday on the Harbor: December 13th

Wreaths Across America: December
The annual escort to Arlington begins for the Wreaths Across America convoy every December. The weeklong truck convoy of Gold Star families, veterans and supporters that starts in Maine and travels to Arlington National Cemetery, making a special stop in Belfast each year. Their arrival up Main Street from Front Street will be quite the sight to behold.
Cabin Fever Sale: February 7th
Head to downtown Belfast, Saturday, February 7 for the Annual Cabin Fever Reliever Sale. All day many businesses will offer great deals. Treat yourself to clothing, housewares, toys, books, crafts, specialty foods, and much, MUCH, more.
Annual Belfast Ice Festival & State of Maine Ice Carving Championship: February 27 – March 1
Come take a walk and visit the ice sculptures at the Belfast Annual Ice Festival that will be located throughout downtown Belfast. Take a break and have a drink at one of the ice bars or participate in one of the many outdoor activities Belfast has to offer throughout the winter. If you’re visiting from out of town, make it a weekend!
